Australian College of Clinical Hypnotherapy &
Australian & Pacific College of Clinical Hypnotherapy
Two professional Clinical Hypnotherapists, Tom Johnstone and Margaret Kelly, saw the need for quality training to teach therapists the modern, practical and effective skills of Clinical Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy. The Australian College of Clinical Hypnotherapy (ACCH) was then created and officially began in Burleigh on the Gold Coast in January 1996. The college built a reputation of quality and integrity with its students and the public over the years.
Since 1998, this private college continued to operate successfully under Margaret’s direction. In 2009 it was expanded to include additional subjects and lecturers. In keeping with its growth, ACCH was renamed the Australian and Pacific College of Clinical Hypnotherapy (APCCH).
The Clinical Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy Training Course used a combination of modern techniques, practical hands-on experience, lectures and discussions, teaching how to treat the cause of the problem, not just the symptoms. This comprehensive course showed the practical ways to set up successful business, assess clients, formulate appropriate therapies, and easily induce the hypnotic state to create change. The course also included the unique Skills Enhancement Unit (SEU) Consolidation Training.
The College taught how to deal with the realities of clients – from the time they walked in the door until required results were achieved.
The focus of the college has updated with the community expectations and requirements over the years. With the arrival of the Covid restrictions, the face to face training methods required the course to be put on hold. Although the college itself is currently in retirement, the Hypnotherapy Clinic continues to assist clients.
